"Love Sparkles" Valentine Class

First of all, thank you for your patience since my last post - I've been enjoying "non-stamping" time with the family :-) I'm working on projects for my January classes and hope to post them all within the next few days.

Here are some projects for an upcoming Valentine Class using the "Love Sparkles" Simply Scrappin' Kit:

3x3 cards

Fancy Favor box (cut down and punched with the Scallop Edge punch) to hold the 3 x 3 cards

3 x 6 cards

gift bag to hold the 3 x 6 cards

candy matchbox

3 x 6 mini scrapbook: uses 3 of the 3 x 6 cards, scored in about an inch, stacked and held together with the jumbo eyelets and Chocolate Grosgrain ribbon.

heart pouch from the petal card die - please pretend the pattern paper isn't upside down :-(

double candy box made with 2 boxes die cut with the Box #2 die

Hershey Bar pull treat
Can you believe I made all of the above projects using 1/2 of the simply scrappin' kit? I added extra cardstock for the boxes, heart pouch and Hershey treat but the cards and mini scrapbook used the Textured cardstock from the kit.

Singing Reindeer

I received this card (and a few others :-) from my downine, Sue Renner, as a part of our gift exchange at our meeting last week. I believe the idea came from Jackie Topa whose original can be seen here: http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addicted_to_stamping/2008/11/singing-reindeer.html

Dasher in Holiday Lounge

Updated: I uploaded a better picture to show how pretty this Holiday Lounge DSP is and now realize you can see my shadow in the picture! Oh well, best I could do with all the rain and lack of sunshine here :-)

Isn't this fun? I found the 16 x 20 frame for about $7 and thought it would be a great project for the Dasher Decor Element (Level 2 Hostess set). I cut the Holiday Lounge DSP to 4x4 and adhered them to the paper insert that came with the frame. I wasn't very straight with my squares so I added the White 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon to hide my imperfections :-) There's actually a part of the ribbon that's wrinkled (near his nose) that's driving me crazy so I'll probably fix that soon. The Dasher Decore Element is on the front of the glass.

I had made another one with the Chocolate Dasher and Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper and raffled it off at our December meeting this week - Laura was the lucky winner :-)

holiday cards

This card was inspired by a swap I received from Founder's Circle (sorry, name was not on back of card)

Stamps: Medallion, All Holidays
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Brushed Silver, Night of Navy
Accessories: Silver EP, Rhinestone brad, Silver cord

I received this beautiful card from Judy Jensen :-) She embossed the Dasher image and added a little glitter. I love the satin ribbon bow and the decorative edge punched with the Eyelet Border punch.

holiday goodies

Sorry for the blurry picture. These are little sour cream containers filled with Hershey's Kisses :-) Super easy to make:

Cut your DSP (Merry Moments) to 4" x 6"
Apply Sticky Strip to one side and the bottom
Fold the 4" sides towards the middle and secure the ends and bottom
Fill with candy
Fold the top in the opposite direction of the bottom
Punch two holes at the top
Crimp the top and bottom
Add the ribbon
Add the sentiment

You can also find more detailed directions and pictures at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/sour_cream_container/

(They use different measurements but it looks similar :-)

A holiday card I received from Carol Price! It used the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' kit :-)

I received a Christmas Cocoa Packet from Dawn Griffith at Founders Circle this year and I changed it just a little to keep it easy for mass production :-) Again, very easy!

Seal your Whisper White Medium envelope shut
Trim off a little from the side so it measures about 5"
Stamp some snowflakes from "Snow Swirled" in Bermuda Bay
Punch an opening at the top with the Slit Punch for the ribbon
Insert the Cocoa so the ribbon holds it at the bottom
Add stamped images from "Cold & Cuddly", sentiment from "Many Merry Messages" and punched snowflakes
You can view Dawn's version along with detailed instrucions and a video here: http://www.dawnsstampingthoughts.net/2009/09/hot-cocoa-holder-video-.html
Here's another holiday card from Judy Horowitz:

I don't know exactly how she made it yet but I know she used the Top Note die for the shoes and some punches for the tops of the shoes. I can't wait to make one!
